Where do I begin?
Medstaff specializes in locum tenens coverage and permanent placements. We offer a great variety of opportunities nationwide. To get started:
  • If you are a facility, submit your staffing needs.
  • Providers, check out our opportunities page. Contact a Medstaff consultant and submit your CV.

Medstaff dedicates a team of professionals to expedite licensure, background checks and other typical hassles. We provide our physicians and healthcare professionals information about the opportunity before you are submitted over for an interview. Our goal is to find the best match for both client and providers to ensure a lasting and satisfying relationship amongst all parties. We encourage you to ask questions and provide as much insight as to your needs and wants (working environments, locations, size of facility, etc.). Consider this as a time to establish a relationship with your consultant and the key to a successful placement for Medstaff.

When and How will I be paid?
Permanent - Upon accepting a position you then become an employee of that facility or group. They will discuss all salary and benefits with you at the time of the interview and when signing your contract.

Locums - When accepting a locums assignment, you will be a contract person for the hospital in most cases. The hospital or group will then pay you directly. In some instances you will be a contract employee of Medstaff and then we will pay you directly.

Do I need malpractice insurance and what about my license?
In most cases the group or facility pays for your malpractice insurance. In some instances we have facilities where you would be a permanent employee but are considered contracted, in this occurrence you would be responsible for your own malpractice insurance, however the facility usually has a higher salary to offset this cost. All of our facilities take care of all of your licensing costs, which would include renewals or to get a new license for that particular state, if you currently do not have one.

Can I bring my family with me?
Yes, they are welcome and you are sometimes encouraged to bring your family on assignment (we must be notified in advance). In many cases, the lodging supplied would be appropriate for a family. You would, of course, be responsible for your family’s travel and additional lodging expenses, if applicable.
